Stop for a minute and think of your favorite company or business. What is the first thing that comes to mind? Is it their products or services, their employees, their location or is it their logo? More than likely, one of first things that came to mind was the logo. Whatever company you picked, they have a logo. Honestly, it is hard to think of a successful business or company that doesn’t have one.

Many business owners don’t understand the importance of why a logo is important for their company. Your logo is the first thing people will see when they see whatever you marketing material they may see. Here are some of the advantages that a small business has when having a logo.

Immediate Recognition

A logo tells people a little about you business right away without them having to find out more about your business. People easily recall symbols than they do words. A logo design helps in clarifying your company name. Remember, a picture is worth 1,000 words.

Never-Ending Branding

Your logo builds your corporate identity and it creates never-ending branding. Being remembered is a key to long term success in any business.

Credibility = Confidence

A logo will give your business a professional image, credibility and a positive impact to your potential customers. You always want to create confidence to your customers; it will make it easier for them to choose you instead of the competition.

Visual Impact

When a customer searches for a particular service of product, they look for a well-defined company. Some clients are attracted to a noticeable, pretty and professional-looking logo design, so your corporate logo may impress them into preferring you.

Sense of Pride

Having a corporate logo will increase your personal confidence and give you a sense of pride of ownership. Seeing your logo advertised on print and the media gives you some sort of satisfaction.

Internet and technology keep moving forward everyday and many small businesses are adapting to these changes. Believe it or not, there are many businesses that still don't have a website. Their main two reasons are that either they think that a website it's more of a luxury than a necessity or they simply don't think they need one. A website is a much more important part of your business than you may think. Here are my top reasons that explain the importance of having a website and all the phenomenal things it could do for your business.

1) From Local to Global

You are opening up a demographic that you were never reaching before. On the Internet, not only is your business targeting your local market, but you now have the potential to be seen all across the United States and the world. Did you ever think your company would have the possibility of doing business around the world? Well, now you can.

2) 24/7 Customer Service

Having a website will cut down calls or time your employees or yourself spends on the phone answering questions that could have been much easier to answer if there was a website. Online forms can also be used to allow customers or clients to request quotes or ask further information. Even when your office is closed, your website will always be available.

3) Effective Branding

A professional website will brand your business, give you credibility and create confidence in new customers or clients who are not familiar with your company. Your logo, your colors and your message will reinforce the branding you need and give you an online presence that your competition may not have.

4) Your Competition Has a Website

If you do not already have a website, I'm sure your competition does, even if they’re a small business. If people are going to the web before using the phone, how much business do you think you've lost already? People want to find out as much as they can about the business they don't know about or they want to call for services.

5) Customer Interactivity

Keep in mind that your website can be used to generate leads and gather useful information from your customers. The more you know your customer, the better. You must give them reasons to stay on your website and participate as much as possible while visiting your website. Add photo and video galleries, calendar of events, blogs and forums, newsletters, feedback forms, voting polls, monthly specials, etc.
